Lock up your stuff!

By Jeremy, November 24, 2014

If you happen to be moving between accommodations, or have free time before your next flight, or decided to stay in a jjimjilbang (like I did for three weeks), well don’t lug your luggage around with you!

There are a lot of stairs and slopes in Korea, especially in the train stations, so a packed suitcase is just going to slow you down.

Instead, look out for the electronic lockers that are conveniently located in train stations and supermarkets. You should be able to fit a decent-sized suitcase in there and then go sightseeing.

Most of the lockers have now been upgraded with English instructions.

If you only need to store luggage for two hours or less, you can store it for free at the customer service counter of some supermarkets and department stores. LOTTE Mart at Seoul Station is one such place.

Blogging on secretkorea.net is my way of sharing cool travel experiences with all of you. I do my best to personally verify everything posted here. However, prices and conditions may have changed since my last visit. Please double check with other sources such as official tourist hotlines to avoid disappointment.
